Explore Some Of The Best Outdoor Hiking Adventures In The World

If you start exploring the top hiking destinations all over the world, you’re going to run into some nice places. I was just writing about the Grand Canyon, but there are some exotic places I’ve written about as well in other countries. I suppose someone outside the US might consider the Grand Canyon exotic, but wait until you start exploring the Amazon or one of the world’s best mountains or terrain adorned with beautiful majestic waterfalls. So what are some of the top outdoor hiking destinations in the world?

Well, you might be surprised first to hear about a neighboring state to the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is located in Arizona, and this first adventure, The Colorado Trail, is of course located in the great state of Colorado. Can you imagine all the hiking you could do there? Colorado can introduce you to the Rocky Mountains and so much more. The Colorado Trail is 486 miles long, so you can imagine that is going to take quite awhile.

Naturally, you don’t have to hike the entire trail, and that’s why it can pay to look for the places that are best to visit when you pick a location for your vacation hiking experience. Are you an avid hiker, or are you a beginner? I’ve been hiking before, but I’d still be considered to be a beginner. When it comes to an example of a specific ‘location within a location,’ you can look at the Colorado Trail and know that the experts recommend the spot between Molas Pass and San Luis Pass. Why?

The reason for this recommendation is this is where the trail has the best scenery. It’s quite beautiful, and you would want to, of course, know what time of year would be best to visit. Now, let’s take a look at another great location worldwide that can dish you quite the hiking experience. In my last article, I was talking about Mount Everest, but what about Mount Kilimanjaro? You’d have to visit Africa to hike this mountain, and if you reached the summit, you’d be almost 20,000 feet in the air.

While it’s located in Africa, its specific location is Tanzania. What would it be like to be able to tell your friends that you went hiking a mountain in Africa? If you think it sounds like too big of a mountain for you at this point, realize that thousands of people flock to this mountain each year. On these big mountains you might need to bring some hiking sticks. It’s a tourist attraction, and all kinds of people want to get some hiking in at Mount Kilimanjaro.

The Santa Cruz Trek is in Peru, so now you can pay a visit to South America. Traveling the world in your mind to these places as an adventurer is great, too, even if you just hike locally or stateside in different places for vacation. There are plenty of US locations I’m leaving off the list right now since we went worldwide with the selection. For example, there is Superior Hiking Trail in Minnesota, Roan Highlands in North Carolina and Buckskin Gulch in Utah.

Now back to some more exotic locations, although you should look at pictures of Buckskin Gulch in Utah because it is very different looking. One country that has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world is New Zealand. That being said, one of the places you can visit in New Zealand is the Tongariro Northern Circuit. It’s only about 25 miles long, but that doesn’t mean it’s a one day stop. People spend on average at least a few days making the entire trek.

I took you to Peru already, but one other popular spot there is the Inca Trail. Some of the best hiking spots go across into multiple countries, such as the Tour du Mont Blanc, although it does so in a matter of only 105 miles. Have you ever been to Israel? You can visit the Israel National Trail there.

There are tons more exciting adventures awaiting you at the best hiking spots around the world. These are just some of the most popular, and remember there are likely some great spots near you that you might not even know about.
